FEDERAL PUBLIC HOUSING

The Gloucester Housing Authority (GHA) owns and manages 89 units of Federal Public Housing at Willowood Gardens, Arthur Street, and Scattered-site buildings.

The one, two, three and four bedroom units feature parking, washer/dryer hook-up and 24-hour maintenance. There are one and three bedroom barrier-free units at Willowood Gardens. Residents pay a rent based on 30% of their adjusted monthly income. Heat and hot water are included at Willowood. Arthur Street and Scattered-site residents are responsible for the cost of all utilities.

Eligibility is based on income and a demonstrated ability to comply with all lease provisions through favorable past housing history, credit checks and a criminal records check. Residents remain eligible as long as they are in compliance with their lease and household income limits. /p>

Preferences are granted to working families, elderly/disabled households and persons who currently work or reside in Gloucester.
